Miquiztli (pronounced mee-KEES-tlee) is the Nahuatl word for "death" and represents the sixth day sign in the 260-day sacred Aztec calendar (Tonalpohualli). Symbolized by a human skull, it signifies transformation, reflection, and the transition between life and death rather than mere destruction.
